This is a class for beginners as well as for confident artists, since the approach and the exercises are innovative, playful and comprehensive of life’s joys and issues. We will use a variety of art media like paper collage, acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, clay and printmaking, as well as movement and music. The processes are engaging, very easy, and playful. This is a relaxed class where you’ll receive lots of personal guidance. You will access and learn to express your own personal style of art making, by advancing your artistic and expressive skills in visual art and the use of music. You will deepen your understanding of and express the deep connection between your unconscious and your intuition, creativity, hands-on art making. Moreover, If you are engaged in a helping profession or you’d like to move into such career, you’ll find this class to be a rich, practical training to enhance your ability to assist children, teens, adults and seniors, in a compassionate and playful way. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to enjoy the creative process. ~ Alessandra Colfi has been teaching art and its therapeutic effects for over seven years. She is the Associate Director of the Expressive Arts Therapy Department at the International University of Professional Studies and has a Bachelors degree in Linguistics, a Masters degree in Fine Art and is a Ph.D. candidate in Expressive Arts Therapy.
